  • Law – Specialist legal services for alternative asset management, focused on M&A and investment funds.
  • Investment Advisory – Investment advice and research for institutional investors, wealth managers and family offices.
  • Fund Management Solutions – A multi-funds platform providing support and regulatory cover to asset managers and advisers, as well as integrated investor reporting, marketing and investor relations services.
  • International Administration – A Channel Islands, London and Luxembourg-based fund and corporate administration and fiduciary team.
  • Data & Analytics – Benchmarking and ratings services, consulting, market research, and specialist workflow tools for fund managers and investors.

About the role

The Vice President – Senior Analyst will be a core member of the research team and will assist with a variety of high-impact projects for institutional clients. The team covers all asset classes with the focus being on alternative investments, specifically hedge funds and private markets (private equity, private credit and infrastructure).

Due to the nature of our client base and the research team set up, it is important to note that this is a broad role and the candidate will work on a range of key tasks as listed below.

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Portfolio optimisation, peer-group analysis and factor analysis on performance track records of fund managers. Contribute to writing client reports on such topics.
  • Asset-Liability modelling and strategic asset allocation for clients including pension funds
  • Participate and lead Research and due diligence on managers and funds, with a focus on alternative investments including private markets
  • Participate in manager selection mandates
  • Contribute to report writing on research topics
  • Developing expertise quickly on major sectors of interest to the investment community

Candidate profile

Essential Skills

  • Qualified or part-qualified Actuary
  • A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience within investment consulting, fiduciary management, asset management solutions or pension consulting
  • Good analytical and quantitative skills
  • Financial modelling experience
  • Programming and coding skills in Excel VBA , Python or other similar languages

Desirable Skills

  • Background in private markets or hedge funds
  • Previous experience in manager research
  • Data visualization and ability to communicate complex ideas clearly
  • Understanding of pension funds and/or insurance market

Candidates must have an upper-second level degree from a highly rated university, ideally in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Finance, Mathematics or Engineering.

Qualified or part-qualified actuary

Candidates must be physically located and eligible to live and work in the United Kingdom.
