Portfolio Manager – Analyst / Alternative Funds (Luxembourg)

MJ Hudson operates out of offices in London, Jersey, Guernsey, Zurich and Luxembourg and has 5 operating divisions:

  • Law – Focusing on multiple asset classes within the Alternatives sector
  • Investment Advisory
  • Fund Management Solutions – Management, operation and regulatory structuring – a full scope Fund Management outsourcing solution
  • International Fiduciary – Guernsey based fiduciary arm
  • Investor Relations & Marketing – London based consultancy with international clients (including MJ Hudson)


  • Support the client on-boarding process
  • Coordination of external service providers (e.g. administrator, depository), including the implementation of service level agreements
  • Monitor fund investments (e.g. analyse financial reports, calculate performance metrics)
  • Closely collaborate with investment advisors / delegates
  • Analyse and evaluate investment strategies and proposals
  • Organize the investment committee meetings
  • Prepare reports to investment committee and board of directors Review of financial reports to investors
  • Supervision of the investment advisors / delegates and service providers including due diligence, monitoring and attendance at regular review calls
  • Maintain and further improve the investment and delegation oversight processes and procedures
  • Reporting to the Conducting Officer in charge of portfolio management

 Previous Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of asset management experience required, working with either an alternative investment fund manager or a bank
  • Familiarity with client relationship and fund administration
  • Excellent PC skills including Excel and Access (financial modelling and VBA skills would be an advantage)
  • Additional work experience outside the financial industry would be an advantage

Required Qualifications

  • Relevant working experience within the asset management sphere
  • University degree (with majors in economics or finance and/or professional qualifications such as CFA and CAIA)
  • Language proficiency (business proficiency in English, widely spoken EU and non-EU languages would also be an advantage)
  • Knowledge of the Luxembourg regulatory environment governing funds would be an asset
