Whitney Lutgen


Whitney is a lawyer who primarily advises fund sponsors in connection with the establishment, structuring and operation of private investment funds across all alternative investment strategies. She also represents institutional investors making investments into private investment funds.  Whitney further advises on a broad range of other transactions relating to private investment funds including co-investments,  carried interest arrangements, GP/fund restructurings, placement agent agreements and secondary transactions.  Whitney joined MJ Hudson in 2017 from Kirkland and Ellis.


Prior to MJ Hudson, Whitney worked in the Private Funds Group at Kirkland & Ellis in both New York and London.  Whitney also worked as in-house counsel at Partners Group in their New York office.

In her free time Whitney enjoys hiking, having completed the Annapurna Circuit (Nepal), the ‘W’ Trek (Patagonia, Chile) and the Inca Trail (Peru), amongst others.
