Saloni Joshi is a lawyer with more than 18 years’ experience advising on private investment funds and private equity related transactions. Saloni advises on a broad range of private equity transactions, including primary investments, re-ups, co-investments, secondary acquisitions and disposals, as well as advising on partnership and corporate law matters more generally.


Experience

Saloni trained and qualified as a solicitor at Linklaters in 1998, a London magic circle law firm. She was the founder of SJ Advisers, and a former Partner and Head of the Private Investment Funds Group for Morgan Lewis & Bockius. She is also the former International Counsel in the London office of Debevoise & Plimpton.


Education and Qualifications

  • European Law with German LLB (Hons) from the University of Warwick School of Law in 1995
  • Qualified as an English solicitor in 1998.
  • Solicitor (England and Wales)

Recent Engagements

  • Saloni has acted for numerous international fund sponsors pursuing strategies in a variety of markets, including buyout, venture capital, infrastructure, mezzanine, real estate and fund of funds.
  • She has also acted for many of Europe’s leading institutional investors in private equity funds, as well as representing investment managers, consultants, local government bodies, pension plans, family offices and high-net worths.
  • She also has acted in over 30 secondary bids and purchases of private equity investments in the European secondaries market, including “GP for hire” transactions and acquisitions of larger secondary portfolios.

Interests

Any free time is spent with her three (very active) children, cycling, swimming, baking and taxi service/cash-point.
