Robert Eke


Rob advises private equity and hedge fund managers on private fund establishment and regulatory and marketing matters. He has experience in particular of advising emerging managers and spin-out teams. He also advises fund of funds and institutional investors on primary fund investments, co-investments and the acquisition and disposal of fund interests in the secondary market.

Rob has extensive knowledge of fund structures in the UK and key jurisdictions including the Cayman Islands, Ireland, Luxembourg and the United States. Rob has also completed a secondment to the firm’s Jersey office, where he assisted with fund formation and structuring mandates, redomiciliations, financing, and general corporate transactions.

Rob is a recommended lawyer within the “Investment fund formation and management – Hedge funds” section of The Legal 500 2017 editorial and was praised by clients for his “professionalism with charm” when advising start-up managers running unusual strategies.


Rob joined MJ Hudson in January 2013 as a paralegal and, after training with the firm, qualified as a Solicitor in June 2015. In the past four years Rob has worked almost exclusively for asset managers and investors in private funds.

  • Rob graduated in law from King’s College London.
  • Solicitor (England and Wales).
