Pauline de Valk


Pauline de Valk is a Manager at MJ Hudson Spring. She is involved in the Responsible Investment space for many years, where she developed strong interest in identifying the value creation opportunities for companies from a sustainability perspective. Pauline has strong analytical, project management and client engagement skills. Pauline was involved in many project for private investors, ranging from commercial due diligences in the energy sector to high-level ESG risk exposure analyses for indirect investments and strategic ESG value creation assessments for portfolio companies of private equity firms.

Areas of Expertise


During her studies, Pauline gained strategy consulting experience with an internship at the Boston Consulting Group and she performed research for Siemens Wind Power.

After graduating, she joined Spring Associates in 2013 where she developed into an all-round strategy consultant. Pauline was involved a wide range of assignments ranging from corporate strategy development and operational improvement to business development and sustainability related projects, for large corporates, investors and entrepreneurs.


  • Pauline holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, both from the Technical University of Delft.

Recent engagements

  • Involved in many of Spring’s engagements with Private Equity firms; specifically supported and led projects related to commercial due diligence and the integration of ESG in their core investment management activities.
  • Led various portfolio analyses for private equity companies, with focus on strategic value creation and combining the sustainability opportunities with the equity story.
  • Developed a sustainability strategy for a listed chemical company after they acquired a company that uses sustainable resources. We helped the company to merge these product propositions in a combined sustainable strategy.


A native Dutch speaker, Pauline is also fluent in English and intermediate in French and Spanish.
