Francis is an independent director of MJ Hudson Luxembourg.


Experience

Francis is currently Independent Director (a role similar to a UK NED) of several AIFM/RAIF structured funds in Luxembourg, including 17Capital, PO Participations of NM Rothschild Group and BC Partners. He is one of the co-founders of 17Capital LLP UK and advised CDC Group in Paris on setting up two European infrastructure funds. His diversified experience includes Board appointments of two listed companies on LSE 250 and SDAX in Frankfurt, which included fighting off a hostile bid. Previously, Francis completed a five-year term as Chief Executive of European Investment Fund (EIF), which included fund raising in several of the 27 Countries where EIF operates. Prior to EIF, Francis was Secretary General of AAA rated European Investment Bank (EIB).


Education

  • Admitted to Oxford (Wadham College) on Maths, but took an Honors Degree in Modern Languages (Italian and German languages and literature), then a two year degree from the Institut d’Études Politiques, Paris, in Eco-Fi Privée, (Finance and Economics), and while in NYC, with Citibank, attended New School for Social Sciences, in Finance

Interests

Francis is bilingual English and French, speaks fluent Italian, has a good knowledge of German, and has also studied Spanish and Portuguese. He has a European Order of Merit: Gold Medal.
