Eamon Devlin

Managing Partner


Eamon is an investment funds lawyer, with experience in LP representation, co-investments, spin-outs, and private fund formation. He represents a number of governments, SWFs and other high-profile investors and is a frequent commentator on industry issues.

Clients include Aberdeen Standard Investments, Access Capital Partners, Adams Street Capital, Allianz, BACKED VC, Calibrium AG, DN Capital, The Family, HM UK Government, LGT Capital Partners, Lonsdale, Maven, MIT, Newbury, Schroder ADVEQ, StepStone, Stonehage Fleming, and Unigestion.

He leads the Firm’s efforts on ESG (Environmental Social and Governance) implementation and raising industry awareness.

Experience

Prior to help founding MJ Hudson (including re-mortgaging his house in the process…), Eamon was at King & Wood Mallesons (formally SJ Berwin) and Proskauer Rose (Boston and London).

  • Studied Law at the London School of Economics.

  • HM UK Government on a manager selection process and fund investment relating to a £750 million infrastructure fund (2018).
  • LGT Capital Partners on several primary closed-ended fund investments (2012/18).
  • Unigestion on equity-related co-investment transactions (2018).
  • Adams Street Capital on primary closed-ended fund investments (2016/18).
  • Formation of Energy Access Ventures, a social impact fund for Africa (2017).
  • Aberdeen Standard Investments on secondaries deals and primary closed-ended fund investments (2015/18).

He was listed in PFM’s 30 Under 40 for 2017 (he only just got in…).


Interests

Eamon is the oldest member of the Éire Óg Oxford Gaelic Football team and is also manager of the team for the 2018 season (but still can’t get a starting place in the first 15).  He recently retired from White Collar Boxing… At the weekend, he enjoys mucking out the chicken coop with his two daughters.
