Training Contracts

We are currently recruiting for training contracts starting in September 2021, for graduates who have completed their LPC. We like to recruit our future lawyers as early as possible and we are proud to state that a number of our current associates and senior associates started their law careers as trainees.

The structure of a training contract at MJ Hudson is unique:

  • Our trainees are given large amounts of responsibility and exposure from early on.
  • There are five core practice areas, as well as the possibility of going on secondment or to another law firm to undertake a litigation seat. We will expect all trainees to complete a seat in the M&A, Private Funds, Venture Capital and either Tax or Hedge practice areas.
  • Whilst you will be predominantly working in your allocated practice area during your seat, you will also be able to work for other practice areas as required.
  • The open-plan office is designed to help juniors build strong relations with more senior colleagues and to encourage collaboration and skill sharing across the Company (COVID dependent).
  • Trainees are offered specialised support, in-depth training on basic and technical skills, as well as continuous encouragement and guidance in developing their brand.
  • Trainees are required to undertake their PSC at the beginning of their training contract at one of our preferred providers.

What We Offer

Successful candidates will rotate every six months and will provide support to each of the fee-earners in a wide range of corporate matters in the Private Funds, M&A, Venture Capital, Hedge Fund and Tax sectors.

As a trainee, you will be given the chance to get involved in real client matters with the above teams, to develop a genuine sense of life as an MJ Hudson lawyer. You will work with experienced lawyers including partners and associates while having fantastic opportunities for networking and socialising.
