Allenbridge is pleased to announce the publication of its UK and European Transition Management Review. The Review has been written by Steve Webster, a Senior Adviser at Allenbridge with over 20 years’ experience of institutional transition management.

The survey is a detailed assessment of the services provided by UK Transition Managers and is the result of an exhaustive review undertaken in the first quarter of 2017. We believe this is the first time that such a review of transition management has been undertaken and is partly prompted by the drive for greater transparency of transaction costs in the market.

At high level, the survey concluded that transition management provides an essential service which can deliver significant added value to investors. However, the survey also concluded that the services and approach provided by transition managers differed significantly between one another. Indeed, for an industry typically thought of as commoditised, we found insufficient similarity to justify this label. Other key conclusions centred on differences and potential shortcomings in Revenue Disclosure, Trading Capabilities and Risk Management.

Allenbridge intends that the data collected in this survey will be used to assist asset owners to better plan their transition activity and select those transition providers most suited to their particular transition challenges.

We would welcome the opportunity to discuss the findings of this survey with you in person and the possibility of applying this research to your own specific transition management and measurement requirements.
